PLANNING: SHOT TYPES

Today in class we decided to investigate different shot types that would be effective in our opening. We decided to create different scenes that may happen in our opening and observe which camera angles worked best.
This two person mid shot is effective as we can see the whole surroundings. We see the woman convincing herself not to touch the girl even though she is desperate to. The shot is wide enough for the viewers to see what is going on.
The worms eye view shot is effective as it shows that the woman is superior to the young, innocent child and that the woman is a lot stronger than the child. It would give a thrill to the audience as the notice the strength that the woman has over this child.
This two person wide shot enables the viewers to see what the child is doing. They are drawing as the woman watches over her. This shows that the woman craves she had a child like this.

  1. It is a good idea to block out the framing of key scenes as you have done. You report and explain the process.
