PRELIMINARY EXERCISE

Continuity task: our prelim exercise was to film and edit a character opening a door, crossing a room, sitting down in a chair opposite another character with whom she/he exchanges a couple of lines of dialogue. This task should demonstrate match on action, shot/reverse shot and the 180% rule.

RESEARCH: MY MEDIA WORLD PLAN

The main things that I use in media is my iPhone 5s. I use it mainly for social reasons: to text, to tweet, Facebook for instance. This means that I can socialise on the go. Although this is the main reason for me using my iPhone 5s I do use it for other things such as planning my day. I have apps such as ones for bus times, train times, countdown app and my calendar to stay organised. I also have apps for shops so that I can do everything on the go. This is the best thing about having an iPhone as I can do most of the things that I would do at home.

• Calculator, Clock, Reminders are built in apps that I use.
• Camera has instant effects and slow-mo mode.
• Music can be downloaded on iTunes straight to the iPhone.
• The fingerprint scanner is new with the iPhone 5s, used to unlock it and purchase apps or music from the app store.

• iMovie to edit, and mix moving images with still photos. 
• iPhoto to import images from my iPhone and to edit.
• Photobooth to take pictures of myself using different effects such as the green screen one.

• To take pictures at home for memories. 

• Cinema to watch films. Recently been to see About Time and Diana. Both are British films.  

• Television
• Sky to get many different channels to watch. Sky on demand means I can watch hundreds of different films and catch up on any TV that I missed. 
• I also have apple TV where I can buy and download films, TV and music and then play it out of my TV. I like this because it means I can control the TV with my iPhone.
